I have aquatop titanium heaters on my tank that I bought less than a year ago, the controller is totally different than that. For what it's worth, the ones I have are very reliable and keep a stable temp but I've found that they're off about 2 or 3 degrees by comparing with several different thermometers. The hardest part about using my controller is changing the setting, the up and down buttons are locked unless you push them in a certain sequence and I had to read the instructions to figure out how to do it. It's not printed on the controller how to change it so if I ever need to adjust it again I'll need to find the instructions. I guess it's a good thing you can't accidentally change it but it's kinda a pita
