Aquatronica Function key

Hi all. I’ve got an old Aquatronica Evolution that l bought second hand when l set up my tank last August. I’ve only recently started to add the probes and install the software on my laptop to utilise it to its best potential.
I’ve set up the function key controls in the software but for the life of me l cannot figure out how to actually use the function keys. It doesn’t matter if l do a long hold, short hold, press enter and function key, esc and function key……please help!!!

It looks real close to the Apex little controller, but evidently its not saving your changes.

It’s strange. It could be that it’s saved the titles but not the functions? I’ve tried every configuration that the buttons will allow, it’s just not happening…‍
