Aquavitro Fuel

Lol good thing I started this thread! I did not know you had to refrigerate it.

Really like the complete AquaVitro line...

I don't. Take Aquavitro Balance. The claims for it are simply untrue:

aquavitro . balance

"raises pH without affecting calcium and alkalinity"

Nonsense. I don't know how they live with themselves.

Of course it boosts alkalinity. The active ingredient is hydroxide.

There may be some rare situations where this is a useful product, but for most situations where hydroxide is wanted, limewater (kalkwasser) is a better bet as it does not mess with the calcium/alkalinity ratio.

:(

Im keen to try this stuff out what parameters would need to be checked wjen using this stuff

There is nothing in it, except possibly iodine, that you'd normally test for. :)

I use to use it and it worked great! I used Reef Plus before the Aquavitro line came out. Both are pretty much the same thing but I think that one has chlorella (single celled algae) in it. Chlorella is supposed to be packed full of goodies for the corals to utilize.

Why did you stop using it if it worked great?

I dosed it into my DT and my toadstool shrunk down for 5 minutes. Thats strange

Ok 2nd time and last time I will dose my DT with this... The first time my toadstool pulled some polyps in in reaction to dumping in .07 ML. This morning after I dosed .07ML it almost bent itself over and a lot of the polyps did not extend for 2hrs... Now it looks good but I don't really like that reaction. I think i'll stick to dosing my zoa dominated tank.

I seem to be in the minority here but every time I dose the stuff, most of my coral react negatively. I would say roughly 80% of my coral close up with just a few reacting positively to it. I kind of gave up on it....it has been sitting in the fridge for weeks now. This is kind of a generalization, but the soft corals seem to like it, while the LPS corals closed up. I didn't notice a difference with the SPS.

Just make sure not to dose too much. This stuff feeds algae like crazy but the corals love it too. Start with a low dose and work up. I dose 5 ml twice a week in a 180 and have gotten great growth and color. Especially sps.

love it, just be careful with dosing. my ex was a little excited about it, and ended up with an explosion of hair algae everywhere....and couldnt get int back under control for months.

Old thread but my lfs was talking to me about this stuff. Sounds like randy doesn't like it. Now I'm on the fence.

I reread he doesn't like the line of products. This product he really didn't say anything about. My bad.

I think he was questioning their questionable marketing on one of the products. My experience tells me Fuel "ignites coral growth" just like the bottle says. :)

I was thinking I could simply add one dose into my ato water and just let it run. Anyone have any negative concerns with this. If I did it weekly?

ive used it a couple times and my clownfish seems to react negative to it. It seems like it is irritating or burning it.

Have you tested it to see how much it raises the alkalinity?

I talked to one person and they said it worked great but he said that you had to use a ton of it

He was referring to balance not fuel

Hopefully he will give his opinion on fuel which is what the thread is about and AcroPower
