So I decided to give Salinity a try after being a long time reef crystal user. While mixing I did everything the same. Powerhead, heater, rodi in a 55g barrel. I let it mix for a couple hours, checked salinity, and figured it was time. I noticed the mix was a little cloudy but read that when I put it in my tank it will go away in 30-60min. Well, time has passed and it's so cloudy I can barely see into my precious grow out tanks.

Yes I keep all my levels in check, I used my salifert tests last night.

I really don't test anything else on a regular basis.

So should I be mixing reef crystals and getting ready for another water change? What the fudge?

When I used a bucket a year ago or so it would be very cloudy and I usually left it mixing for a day in my brute for it to be crystal clear. Never had it cloud up my tank like that though. You changed 55 gals in how big of a system?

40g in a 240g system.

I've tried to run though everything that could have gone wrong....
I had 30g of reef crystal salt left in the barrel before I decided to use Salinity. I pumped all that water into a live rock soaking tank, that water is clear. The barrel was fine when I started to mix.

All coral and fish appear in good health as the cloudy continues. I just turned on the carbon reactor and put in filter socks.

I'm not sure whether to do another water change or monitor through the night. Parameters and salinity are good for now

Aquavitro sanility cloudy = good salt
Trust me. Will clear out in couple hrs

Aquavitro is the only salt I have ever used and never had that issue. I do find it best to mix the salt in cold water and then heat it. Stays crystal clear.
