Aqueon 40 Breeder stand strength / stability?

Thinking of doing a 40B as my first tank. Locally someone has one of the aqueon pine stands for 30.00. Its in nice shape but this thing looks.... weak. Do you guys usually reinforce these when you use them? I mean I guess it has to be ok if they sell it, but it doesnt seem to have lots of support like the one I made from 4x4 and 2x4 and wrapped in oak for my 110XH.

The stands are kinda scary but they do work. I have an Aqueon stand for my 75 and its kinda crazy how light it is. I built my own stand for a 29 gallon and it weighs 3x what the 75g stand does. I did go a little overboard in building it though, you could park a truck on it haha
