I purchased an Aqueon 65g recently on the cheap, and the top frame and brace are not perfectly square. The center brace is actually sagging, and makes me uneasy using any kind of hood and takes up space for light to get through. What I want to know is, is this brace really necessary, or can i cut it out? Or if it is structurally necessary cut it out, and replace it with say, some acrylic rods across the tank? Thanks all.

I gotta say for a tank that size the braces are needed . that's a lot of weight/pressure in that much water. That's at least my OP.
