Aqueon stand, crack or?

Hi all, got a 75 gallon used and sold tank and random things however kept stand and canopy. Further inspection I noticed what appears to be a crack or maybe bad manufacturing.


Tank was setup when I bought for $65 (leaving hobby due to baby)and stand is level however 1 board on back seems chewed up. Don’t really want to buy a new stand at $285 and idk if I want to build, just trying to get opinions. Hard to get a good pic:

Looks almost like a knot in the wood. Hard to tell for sure in that picture. You could always reinforce it with a 2x4 inside.

I was thinking a knot too, I’ll try to clean it up a bit. Planned on repainting and using for a future build, if I sell prob won’t get another [emoji51]

Yeah, I'd reinforce it on the inside with more wood. Should be fine then.
