also agree too close to glass especially once you add corals and remember fish like caves and tunnels to swim through

On your top down photo maybe pull the rock in the bottom right forward another half inch or so. That way there is no shading and you can put something a bit more invasive on there (GSP, Xenia, Lepto) without it spreading to the main structure.

Is this your first reef tank? What kind of goals do you want for the tank? What kind of filtration do you have in the back chambers?

If you have a general direction for the tank its easier to consider the placement from there.

It’s my first reef tank I Want it to be a Euphyllia dominant tank with a few zoas, a finger leather and maybe a few more lps corals with a Montipora glued to the back wall. I want to stock slowly and I run just filter floss now with matrix. Going to run carbon and purigen in the future with no skimmer.

Starting off with the Zoa's and leather , easing into the euphyllia and then wrapping up with the monti is not a bad game plan.

I would isolate the zoas to one of the two islands, have the leather on the other, and then let your main rock structure be the euphyillia garden.

What light do you have on the tank? without using a skimmer make sure you keep a small bioload. On a 10 gallon the weekly water changes are really all you need.

What fish do you plan on adding? Do you have a powerhead or plan on adding any additional flow?

I am currently using an old Chinese freshwater led, going to upgrade to AI Prime HD

I am going to add two percula clownfish and a small clean up crew most likely this month. I also have a question: after Cycling, if my tank is free of algae and such, can I add a clean up crew during a later date?
