Arag-Alive or used live sand?

Bought a used tank from a guy. Red Sea Max 250. He gave me all of the live sand. Its been in a cooler for 2 days. It was up and running just fine when I bought it. After getting the tank and sand hone, I completely cleaned the tank/sump.
He had a few small pests. Vermetids and possibly some asterina starfish.

I have 2 options. New Arag-Alive sand. (Do I still rinse this?)
Or rinse the old live sand with all of the good bacteria and hope not too many pests survive?

Opinions?

its been a few day, so not sure if you have not already done it. If there are known
pests in the old stuff I would toss and rinse the new stuff.

I'd go with new sand to lessen the worries. But, if still rinse the new sand... the dust storm can be ugly and take awhile to resolve otherwise.

Well, its a little late now haha.
I did get ahold of the guy and he said there were no asterina starfish. I spent several hours rinsing the sand with a garden hose, using a cooler as a makeshift sluice box.

Sifted through it by hand afterwards and looked for evidence of Vermetids. Didn't see anything.
Rinsed again with 15 gallons of RODI and put it in the thank. Its cycling now. Don't see any critters other than 1 small snail.
I should add: I saw the tank up and running before purchase, and there definitely was not a pest problem. I only noticed a couple Vermetids on his rocks. Very few. Also, when cleaning the sump, I found it full of tiny feather dusters. No Vermetids.
Either way... I made sure it was clean!
