I know a lot of people like Aragalive, but let's see if we can't get some more opinions in here for you - bump.

I started out with the “not alive” version of this and like it. Mostly stays put unless you have pretty fast flow on it, burrowing fish seem to like it, doesn’t seem to cause any issues with corals down on the substrate.
Putting it in the tank after tank has been filled - I’ve just rinsed it briefly (without agitation/stirring) to remove the ultra fines that make water cloudy and then used a funnel and 2” pvc pipe to deposit it right on the base to minimize how much gets kicked up.
If you stir it up while rinsing the stuff is so soft the stirring will grind fines off as fast as you can remove them with the rinse. You’ll be there forever trying to get it ready.
Is your tank already running? If so there may be limited benefits to bagged live sand vs the much more economical dry stuff.
