Arc reef pink coralline algae in a bottle

Hey everyone I recently got back into my tank. I’ve been reading around and wanted to try arc coralline algae in a bottle.

I was on amazon it came up in some searches when ordering fish food I ended up pre ordering the new pink bottle it was a few $ more on amazon I noticed after I went on arc website I also saw it was ready for shipping so I shot them an email with hopes they could ship it out earlier.

Tom @ arc got it shipped out the next day and offered me a refund of the difference also told me he was going to throw in a piece of rock in the bottle so I can see what the end result would be.

Got my package today. I received two bottles one pink and one purple so shout out to arc for the gift lol

The pink rock looks insane something in the tank moved it though having trouble finding it under blue lights will upload a picture tomorrow.

Ingredients:
Purified seawater, lab cultured coralline algae spores, nitrifying marine bacteria (heterotrophic, chemolithotrophic and autotrophic), calcium carbonate, potassium carbonate ion buffer.

Included Species of the Following Genera:
Hydrolithon, Neogoniolithon, Porolithon, Lithophyllum, Lithoporella, Sporolithon, and Hydrolithon sp.

update 10 days later i got a nice spot
The reason i went with pink is because i did have some purple spots already but it was under GHA so i didnt know if it was left over dying or what ever on the rock

I used all dry rock when starting tank around 3 months ago. Haven’t added any coral and all rock was brs reef saver, just dumped 3 bottles in 1 week ago. Waiting to see what happens.

I added the purple bottle about 7 weeks ago and haven't seen much except a couple tiny patches on the back wall.
I gave it one more try with the pink bottle about a week ago, so we'll see!

I would take a toothbrush to that rock and clear out as much of the GHA off to allow a clean surface for actual coralline to grow.

You need a proper balance of lighting and correct water parameters (CA, ALK, MAG, Nitrates, Phosphates, etc) to grow coraline. If you weren’t growing it prior to adding the “magic bottle” then you will not grow it nor sustain it after. I started three tanks all with dry pukani rock and had coraline 2 months after cycling was done.

I figured the bottle would be easier than scraping snail shells or whatever. I wasn't growing it prior due to leaving the tank zero maintenance for 4 years barely fed never did one water change. . i bought the tank off someone on craigslist they broke it down helped set up and went ghost after a bit. I had no clue what i was doing i just kept topping it off when i got back into the hobby this year my sg was at like 1.010 3 damsels left rock work just all over the place. Four months ago i binge watched brs youtube vids and learned what i could

spent 2-3 hours doing cleaning gha with siphon into filter sock thank you for the tip tank looks wayy better. im starting to see dots on the back glass could it be coraline or does normal algae grow in spots too?
