Arctic-T247 LED Aquarium Light

Anyone have experience with these lights? Ive seen a few videos of tanks with them and they look good and owners seem to like them. For the price seems like a good deal. What do you guys think?

Im setting up a 29g reef tank.

I have this light over my 40b frag great light hang it about 12" above tank

I've used this and the S026 fixtures-best light around for the money IMO

I've no idea why they sell them so low :noidea:

Thanks guys. I'm excited to set it up! How do you have yours set up? My ceiling is way to high for me to hang them. I'm thinking I will have to build something.

I have four mounted to the underside of my canopy.

We also have ours mounted to the lid of our canopy with screw in hooks and zip ties

This drawing is easier than explaining. Basically two pieces of angle iron and two pieces of c-channel. One piece of angle iron and one piece of c-channel is screwed into the bottom of the canopy and the others are bolted onto the lights. Get all lights hooked together, like the second pic below. Then interlock the two pieces of c-channel and bolt the two pieces of angle iron together. When I say iron..... I mean aluminum. Hope this helps.

Just wanted to post an update. I'm not too happy with my set up but it works. I think I need to lower it a little. The lights are so bright they light up about two feet in front of the tank.

I think it is largely because people are aware of the inexpensive cost of bridgelux diodes. That and OR may just flat out be accepting accepting a slightly lower than possible profit margin on them in order to make the customer happy (imagine that).

I think it's probably both.

The biggest reason is likely control. Put in 6-7 different dimming channels on automation and it will turn it into a $500 fixture in a hurry.

Seeing how LEDs are priced now, it would be downright foolish to buy a d120 when these are just as cheap and have wider spread, actual heatsinks, and upgrades drivers. Seems to be a no brainer

We have the different business model than other aquarium LED companies. As you can tell, our profit margin is cut to the bone, but the return is more hobbists can enjoy the hobby and keep any type of corals. My goal is our customers still have the money to buy frags after having our lights on top of their tanks.
