Im looking in to an arduino controller but I have no clue were to start can someone point me in the right direction

You may want to try building it yourself. It could be a really fun project. Here is my thread on the Arduino thermometer I made for my reef. I just replaced it with an apex, but it was definitely cool to build.

For inspiration, go to YouTube. Here is a link for a particularly striking example of what you can do with this sort of hardware. He also sells a kit to build his own model.

If you do end up building your own. Plan the whole thing, or at least the main stages out first. Then buy the hardware. In order to figure out what you need, do some research. The actual Arduino website is a great place to start. Also, if you do build your own, buy the legit Arduino board, they are more expensive, but my cheap Chinese knock off got fried in the first few weeks of use.

Hope this helps,

+1 to the reef angel

If you pieced together the hardware you could just copy the code over.
