The first filter floss I purchased months ago was “inTank PREMIUM THICKNESS Aquarium and Pond Filter Floss”. I’m seeing several other types such as “Aqua-Flo 12" Pond & Aquarium Filter Media”, “Filters PRO Koi Pond Filter Pad Media Roll” and many others. Just curious if they all basically work the same or are some exponentially better then others?

I’m going to go with an absolute no on that. I recently found the Sera brand, it comes in balls or flat sheets and holds together well, it is also actually possible to rinse/squeeze this stuff clean then let air dry and reuse. I like the balls because they collect waste without blocking flow. But recently bought the flat version and it’s working awesome too and a bag will last for a really long time.

A lot of those pond filter floss are the same and then some companies like poly filter, go the extra mile. Adding things like carbon to add chemical absorption properties.
Filter socks on the other hand can vary so much more in my opinion. The microns and material used add many more options of functionality, durability and efficiency.

I have wanted filter socks once I heard them mentioned a few months back but they won’t onto the biocube.

However, you have peaked my interest on the poly filter with added properties. I didn’t know those existed. I’ll have to Google that.
