Biopellets allow you to achieve ULNS status which is great for SPS corals.
What if you wanta mixed reef?
CAn you just keep a small amount of Biopellets tumbling? Or are they just best for SPS dominant reefs?

...I ask because the only successful tanks I've seen online that run biopellets are SPS dominant tanks

you dont have to have an sps dominate tank running bio pellets, yes that is what they are made for mainly, but like you said, the less pellets your running means less bacteria to colonize the pellets, meaning you water wont be stripped too clean

lps still like clean water, as long as your feeding your tank with a zooplankton and oysterfeast then you can run a mixed reef with bio pellets and clean water.. just be sure to feed your tank..
