Thanks for the advice I’m leaning towards a conspicuous now and I currently have a blue line don’t they are very underrated imoBali Aquarich has bred them in some numbers, but whether wild or captive bred, they are very expensive and not worth the price. They grow to be kind of drab and not very impressive, plus Holacanthus as a whole tend to be on the aggressive side for angels. I’d look into a different angel if I were you. Are there any other ones you’d consider?
At one point I had considered a captive bred one, but after seeing pictures of it as an adult I just couldn’t be bothered.
Also, you should ask where they were collected. The ones collected in their main range along the Sea of Cortez may need cooler temperatures than ones collected further down the Mexican / Central American coast. Same problem with the BSJF. Many don’t realize Rosenblatti are a subtropical species that need cooler water than the average reef tank.
I’d rather get a Blue Line or if you’re willing to pay, a Conspic from Poma Labs. Captive bred AND cheaper.
Either way, there’s better angels out there.
How big did it come in by chance ? ThanksI got my conspicuous from Matt at Pomalabs. They are currently having a sale too! 3K for baby conspicuous!
