after doing some research to find out what’s going on in my DT and causing unusual white spots on my mollie. I can across info on copepods that said over half are parasitic and will attach to fish. I recently added a lot of pods to my dt could these be a problem? I know it’s a generic question without knowing the pod species however I was wondering if anyone had info on this ?

What size are the pods? Do they have big round eyes and look like it could be a pokemon? Dont remember the name of those, but those ones are for sure bad news. You have pics? What type of pods did you add?

Copepods are NOT parasites however SOME Isopod species are

If it looks like this it's a parasitic Isopod

and if it looks like this it is Ich or Velvet

Ya that’s how this same mollie looked when she had ick, posted a pic this looks different

Molly looks as though she's got a few missing scales - is anyone picking on her?

She is missing a few scales these scales are the ones that turn cloudy and then eventually drop off. Actually mollie rules the roost if anyone is aggressive it is her towards the fire fish the clowns and bangai don’t bother mollie

Today I going to give mollie a 1 hr Paraguard bath I suspect she might have something bacterial or fungal (albeit quite rare) affecting her scales. I posted on a freshwater forum hoping the fw guys might have an idea and didn’t get one reply. Paraguard is a mild treatment so I’ll start there

just move her back to some fresher water and most of the saltwater parasites can't survive and then move back. I have had molies in my reef tank for years. Not aggressive and better than damsels. When they breed the fry are good for the reef and I have had a couple grow to full maturity.

Mollies can be really stupid though, I had one blind itself by picking on the aptasia before my peppermint shrimp ate them.

Haha!
Ya she went through a fw dip to check for flukes (none) then a Paraguard bath and 7 Paraguard treatment everything cleared up so I added her back to the dt today
