Are Elegance corals suppose to have sticky tentacles?

I’ve had an Elegance Coral for probably 8 months now. Whenever I’ve touched the tentacles (with gloves) they are never sticky. Everywhere online says they have a strong sting and are sticky. What gives?

It’s grown and it is my favorite coral

They have sticky tips like anemones, to catch prey.

Just the tip or along the tentacle? I feel like the full tentacles of my anemones are sticky and not just the tip

The nematocysts are designed to penetrate the external tissue layers of living organisms, not the latex-like material of gloves.

So when people say their tentacles are sticky, they are touching with their bare hands? The latex gloves are pretty thin.

Maybe it’s also not accurate for me to compare to the stickiness of anemones, which do stuck to my gloves, because they are so much stronger?

Yes the nematocysts of most anemones are significantly stronger (and larger) since they are predatory of larger fish and inverts than stony corals
