Are fish necessary?

Hi all! So I’m just wondering if I actually have to have fish in my reef? Are they required for biological balance? I’m really hoping to create a calm and tranquil environment.

Yes, that’s the direction I think I’m heading.

Yep, would really have no issues with that! You would just have to remember to feed the inverts depending on what type they were (hermit crabs for example)

I think this is a BRILLIANT idea! I might go this route as my fish pass, would never get rid of them but I truly enjoy the shrimp, crabs, urchins...etc.

Sounds peaceful, although some fish can help overall coral health, especially when it comes to pests and/or algae in your DT.

You could try having a slipper lobster, those things are epic.
