I am looking into a KHD in the future and the only way I can mount it would be on top of a 2.1 SA and 2.1 slave.

I have browsed thru a couple of threads indicating the KHD can leak and take out the doser(s) underneath it. This makes me wonder, are the boards not conformal coated? If they are not, would there be any downfall to me conformal coating them myself?

The only negative to coating it yourself would be voiding the warranty.
I’m a firm believer in conformal or epoxy coated PCB’s.

They are but that doesn’t mean that circuits can not be shorted out. when I first got out of trade school. I got a job at Naval ordinance repairing circuit boards. conformal coating didn’t stop circuit failure. IRS nice but there are many points of failure in a circuit board. Always think about points of failure when installing equipment. In dosing pumps if the output line gets blocked at the discharge. Pressure builds up causing line failure. This can cause a line to come off and spray fluid down on to any device below. I see people stack equipment on top of each other and just see accidents waiting to happen. It’s the maintenance man in me. I have my dosing system in the garage setting next to each other.

Coated boards from the factory would be a nice touch especially since there is liquid running through them.

I dont have the space to do anything but stack mine.
