Are hannah checkers worth the price?

I have 4 and have had 1 fail. Otherwise I find them accurate and otherwise reliable. Mine was out of warranty, but I they based on others experience they are responsive when it comes to warranty replacement.
That said, I only use them for Alk, PO4, and copper.

Yes, I think so. The refill reagents are fairly expensive and competitive with other brands

If you are trying to grow SPS the Alkalinity checker is a must have, unless you have a Trident...

The others are useful to save time but most people do not check Calcium or Phophates anywhere near as much as Alk.

I also purchased a Free Chlorine Checker to test break through of the carbon blocks on my RO/DI unit.

We would all like to see them come out with a low range Nitrate, but one does not exist for salt water. I use Red Sea Pro for low range NO3.

Alkalinity for sure. ULR Phosphate maybe. Calcium is questionable because the test is difficult to perform to get accurate results.

Recently ordered the hanna checkers for alk, ulr phosphate and calcium because I’m colour blind and was struggling to read salifert test, I’m very impressed with them and in my opinion are definitely worth the money.

They are easier to use than most. I run double test when I do mine. Hanna and red sea. Both are always the same for alk and calk. Hanna had a chance of being off or throwing a code if you get the vials dirty on the outside. Make sure to wipe them while handling.

I run apera probes for ph and salinity, 2 of each. They are always whiten a .01 of each other. Had a hanna ph tester, thing never matched my other ones. Knock off hanna ph and salinity can be had on amazon for under $20 each, same unit, just a different color. That should tell you what kind of quality your dealing with.

I bought a Hanna alk checker a couple of months ago and love it. However I noticed the reagent now has a couple of fuzzy precipitates that float around when I dispense into the sample cuvet. Not sure the effect a few of these may have on the readings...

Anyone else experience this?
