I'm considering a ice cap skimmer for my fowlr tank a in sump one, anyone have experience with them? Thoughts appreciated

The brand is OG but no experience myself.
The "brand" may be OG but the bulk of the products under the brand (IMHO) are mostly just import crap trading on the old school name. The OG icecap went out of business ages ago (and to that end was a horribly run enterprise by many accounts). I think the ballasts may be built using the OG specs, but the rest of the equipment is....

I'm guessing other skimmers in the saltwater hobby, but I could be reaching lol
There are (without question) different classes of protein skimmers.

-efficiency
-reliability
-ease of use
-ease of maintenance
-stability

So "compared to what" is a valid question.

I had one of the nano models - the pumps were terrible and more expensive than they should have been for replacements. When the pumps weren't dying the actual unit worked really well
