Are lawnmower blennies reef-safe? Experience?

So on a serious note... my LM Blenny pretty much minds his own business.
I will see him peck at turf... although not very successfully.... my foxface lo, seems to grin and shows him whose boss and how to do it right.
He will camp his hole most of the day, annoy the hell out of my orchid dotty for a bit, perch on random stuff, and then goes back to his hole.
My Tang at first did not like him... but now my Tang has pretty much given up, and my tank has reached harmony again.

so they don't really eat hair algae? What do they eat? Seaweed? Is that what you mean by they don't really mow lolYes but they don't mow lawns
I wanted to get one for my hair algae but don't mind if they only eats seaweed. just looks so silly

ive seen him go after everything..
He will peck at turf, although don't expect it to disappear like an urchin would or a foxface.
He will go after flakes, mysis, the nori clip.
But if you got him thinking he would get rid of your GHA, then no.

They are very reef-safe and useful. Mine eats everything and looks super fat: fish food, nori, GHA...anything. Never seem him touch a coral.

Was mostly joking but basically what @Naekuh said; don't expect them to solve a gha issue. They peck. Mine's voracious at feeding (msysis, etc) and occasionally decides to peck or rip a peice of gha (at least when I'm watching); def not like an urchin as said

haha I went and got a lawnmower blenny today! Cause I really wanted him for GHA but its really an excuse so I got a sea hare to pair with him so it's like he is taking care of the GHA!

We call ours "crazy man". They do act crazy. Never had an issue with corals. I have had 4 different ones. I have had better longevity with the black ones than the lighter colored ones. Just my experience.

So... Grampa has moved in with Coral and Marlin my clownfish pair lol They don't mind it. One of my yellow clown fish also sleep in there with them. So now this fake anemone is housing 4 fishos.
I don't know if you guys can spot him. It took me a while to find him when lights went off.

Thanks everyone I figured they were truly reef-safe but I know some fish can be labeled as that and not be. I just wanted to make sure he was going to be okay in my tank. I’ve had him for awhile but he was in the school tank which is unfortunately being taken down. All the fish have found good homes and some are with me.
