BTW, that nub in the first pic is now that coral in the background of the most recent shot.

I have the EVO50 over my 18cube nano tank, an EVO150 over my 36x24x18 zoa only frag tank. The dimmable leds. 12inches above water.
I had odyssea 150 on nano and 250 hqi over my frag.

in my 65gal:
I had them turned on all the way.
I noticed my zoas were bleaching, turning white.
I now have the leds on half power? there are no numbers or steps in the dimmables. so I really don't know.
I plan to get par readings but...
The zoas are coming back and opening up fully, a few frags are still not opening.
I think I just need to find 'their' spot.
I heard that all corals need uv, so I turn on an pc for a few hours. But I want an only led setup, energy cost/heat...

in my nano:
just replaced the hqi with the led, have leds on half way, all looks good.
my acans, montis and chalices are opened. They look great.

it's only been a month, and nothing has died so... I like my EVOs.

only questions is, do I need UV supplement lighting? I dont think so.

I wouldn't.. Do you like getting sun burned? If you add UV, the corals spend more energy protecting themselves (and healing) that could have gone towards growth. Metal halides are what most people refer to as the current standard in lighting. Although they do put off UV, they also include a glass shield to block all of the UV rays so the corals are not getting any.
