Are Legos reef-safe?

Call me crazy, but I was thinking Legos would be a cool way to manage things in the sump, e.g. building a stand if the skimmer is sitting too low, building probe holders etc. Does anyone know if this is safe? It would certainly be cool if it was.

I would think they are since they are non toxic in case kids swallow them.
