Are Lima Shrimp Obligate Lima Clam Associators?

Do Lima shrimps require Lima clams to live? I was thinking about getting a pair for my nano tank, but wasn't sure if they needed a clam to live... I'd rather not keep a flame scallop since they have a bad track record of success.

From what I've read they do not require a scallop. Do you plan on having any fish or other inverts in the tank? Here is also a link to a good article to read.
