I have 2 clownfish, one slightly bigger than the other, both around 5cm, and I've had them 5 months. They get along well, the smaller mostly ignoring everyone and the bigger following/guarding the smaller one. The bigger is fairly aggressive to my 2 chromis (the only other fish in the tank) when they get near and chases them a few cm; they seem unphased by this and come back for more. The bigger one is not aggressive to the smaller one and occasionally shivers to it, with the other one shivering too. They seem to swim around together most of the time, especially at night. Is it likely they will remain peaceful as they grow up or can their relationship change?

As long as one is being submissive to the other you should be fine. If you see that one is getting eaten you’re probably running into trouble. Also, clowns can be territorial especially if you have an anemone. My husbands clown is very aggressive and we can’t get it paired with any other clown. It’s also very territorial when anything gets close to the main anemone. We have another set of clown that came paired and they play around in the water and just enjoy each other.
