Are my rocks ready?

I have had live rock (which are just dead coral skeletons) In a bucket of RO water for a while. They also spent 2 weeks dry outside and now 3 days extra in RO again. They don't smell and I don't think they were alive to begin with because they were collected by someone who found them washed up on shore.

Is there a way to check other than smell?

Check for ammonia, if theres any die off it should raise it.

Unfortunately I have no ammonia kit. I have no need for one due to the water changes on my nano.
