I have a small (maybe 20" by 12") fuge area in the sump of my 150 gallon DT. I grow cheato using an AI prime Fuge light opposite cycle of my DT lighting. I feel like my Cheato growth has really slowed down. A few months ago I was throwing away basketball size chunks every couple of week. I feel now it's just barely growing (I don't have any scientific evidence at this point). I had a pincushion urchin and a purple urchin in my DT and they were knocking over too many frags so I re-homed them in my sump. I now always see them in the Fuge section laying on top of the Cheato ball. Is it possible the urchins are eating so much that it slows down the growth or is this most likely a nutrient issue?

It wouldn't surprise me. They are notorious for wrecking wild seaweed when their predators are eliminated.
