Are Orange Envys still considered a rare zoa??

Just wondering if orange envys are still a popular zoa to buy...or are they just common that everyone has them......i know aquasd sells theirs the cheapest......as other sites range from still $40 to $50......how come??

I agree. Have not seen the orange that I would pay higher price for in them. They mostly all look like RPE morph (can also be the type lighting shot under) to me.

Sorry m'akoyPinoy but yours are not orange envy. First and foremost the Orange Envy is a PE so you will see the green mouth and watermelon like striations on the underside of the polyp. The orange envy is very different than the true RPE as it does not display the blue/purple area around the green mouth, and I've had both right next to each other in the tank and they are completely different.

I've always seen the main difference between tRPE's and EO's as the purple center around the mouth (if you take red/orange out of the equation). I know the 'imposter' RPE's don't have the purple centers and coule be colored orange under certain lights, but I've never seen them look anything like the EO's of lore. Unless there is some crazy cricumstance, 99% of the time, I'm going to call EO's any Z. gigantus that is colored orange with no purple fill around the center of the polyp. I'd love to see some solid oranges that could be colored reds if anyone has them.

First of all thanks for the credit of the photo. 2nd, There is always going to be controversy on this. Almost a year ago when I introduced these and brought the price from $600 down to under $100 everyone jumped on the bandwagon about how these were just a RPE morph. I sent several polyps around the USA to different people to see how they did in their system and under their lighting. One such person was REV. What I can tell you is that these are as "ORANGE" as orange can be. They are not a RPE nor are they even close to being red, burgandy or slight variance there of. Very distinct orange coloration with no purple around mouth like a RPE. There is no direct lineage to these polyps, but they are spectacular in person. By far the most favorite polyps in my tank.

unless you have seen the real OE in person.(Lost mine in a house fire) then most people will call any orange/red and OE. The real deal is solid orange, no orange with black striations(sp). Amore169 those look like the ones I had. Fat and round with short tentacles

I got a frag from OIAB that I later lost, but it did not look anything like any of my RPE. I have at least 4 diff RPE morphs. I may try it again later on.
