Are palythoas really bad?

I wanted to get some zoas but I heard they have palytoxins or something like that and I wondered if i make a mistake if they will release that toxin into the air. But this is also coming from the same guy that got stung by a Foxface Lo and a coral croucher goby. But am I really in danger of getting palytoxins?

Relax, just don’t cook, eat, squish and if you have to pick them up, gloves and goggles.
It does not travel in air.
The toxin is true for some, but much overplayed.
However, if it gets into your blood steam, yup, can be dangerous.
I kept them for 30 years, never a problem but I leave them in the water.

Short answer: no
I don’t think there have been any recorded cases of a reefer dying from keeping zoas, at least not that I know of.

There’s a couple of members who got very very sick as in hospital sick, breathing problems.
But each was handling, and when handling, without protections.
It just a matter of understand this.
