I'm looking for an apex controllable DC pump. Obviously, the COR is coming out soon but I have no interest being an early tester of this pump for obvious reasons.

The reef octo DC pump has my attention and I'm curious if people are having good luck with it.

I have a varios 2 on my 90. Very quiet. Almost zero vibration. Powerful. And parts are available if needed, unlike other imports. Highly recommend. Merry Christmas!

I had a Waveline DC10000II and switched over to a Octo Varios 6. Very happy - quieter and seems to be better quality. I've only had it running for 9 months or so, but no issues yet. The owner of the LFS says he's all but quit carrying Vectra pumps because the Octos are so much better.

Reef octopus Varios 6 pump has been very reliable and very quiet. For the record, you wouldnt be a "tester"of the Cor pumps, They will have been out in the field with many reefers that are testers for Neptune prior to when they go on sale to the general public.

I want like 3 years of user experience. I thought cor was only out to insiders for les than a year.

San the varios6 for a year or so, ran fine was silent. Been running the COR20 for 6 months maybe?! Not really sure. Zero issues with it either. For apex control and advanced programming the COR wins. Keep in mind, to run the VarioS with the apex you’ll need a VDM Port. COR15 requires 1link. COR20 uses aquabus

The VarioS pumps also come with every accessory you would need for a pump, including a float switch. Comes with adapters for hard and soft plumbing, the screen cover and union screw on connection. You can't go wrong.

The VarioS is also the updated version of RO's DC pump line. They had the older ones with the all red controller first before releasing the VarioS.

I have 2 VarioS-6 pumps for my 180, but they're in-sump. The only negative I've read, not experienced first hand, is that they aren't the best pumps for external applications because of issues with leaking. I don't know if that's true, just what I've read. If you're using it internally then it wouldn't be an issue.
