Are scolys worth it?

If y’all are worried about price but like the look, a button scoly may be the way to go. They look great in nano tanks and are (usually) a good bit cheaper than a regular scoly. Probably not worth it in a tank bigger than 45 gallons though, it’d get over looked

I like bonecutters for the branching euphyllias, the heads snap right off! If you have a LFS that you’re friends with (not a Petco type place, like a dedicated fish store) they may frag it for you. I have to do this when I want to sell LPS because I don’t have a coral saw and they do. Lots of ways to frag a frogspawn!
I haven't used bonecutters. I used to use very sharp tin snips and it would work most of the time but sometimes would crush the skeleton. With the dremel I get a perfect cut EVERY time. Maybe one day I'll get some real bone cutters and give that a shot

I tried the dremel and I felt it got a bit too hot and may have burned the flesh a little because the frag didn’t show very good PE for months. Might’ve been an error on my part but I’m also not a fan of taking my coral into the garage where I do a lot of spray painting, scared of the fumes. I’ll try it again when my euphyllia is ready to frag again, maybe I just need to cut farther from the polyp
