I was wondering if test kits like Salifert and Hanna Checkers are safe to use with no gloves. I tried to do some research on what the chemicals used are but I'm not very well versed in chemistry. Do these test kits pose any danger to us?

Thank you!

I'm not sure what chemicals you're referring to but there should be pretty detailed information regarding toxicity online (most kits list the chemicals used)...as a general rule of thumb you want to limit exposure of any sort whether it be exposure to the skin (topical), inhalation of fumes, or any other route. With that being said I don't wear gloves, I'm just careful not to spill any on my skin or hold my face too close to the chemicals...I'd suggest everyone use caution with any chemical.

I know at least some Salifert kits use hydrochloric acid which you don't want to make any contact with if possible just to name one chemical of many...
