Like there are SC Orange Passions and RR Orange Passions. Are there a variety of Walt Disneys? If so, which is the "true" one?

I have two from different places and they look slightly different.

Yes they are simply because most people name them because they look similar, an example of this is the blue Oregon Tort many imitations out there just because some reefers want in on the spoils so the sell them as Walt Disney or Oregon torts to price then accordingly.

how can you tell which is the OG walt disney?

Only through the amount of trust you have in your coral vendor, and how they explain the lineage.

I also have two different Walt Disneys in my tank. The both look amazing but totally different. I got them a very trusted meme era in this forum.

I have fragged corals. In the same tank with similar light and flow and identical water chemistry, my frags can look surprisingly different than the mother colony.

Adam of Battlecorals often has notes on his corals on how different conditions can bring out color.

It could be that the coral is not the real Walt Disney. But it could be they are all authentic and slightly different conditions have modified the look.

So I got one from a hobbyist that said he got his directly from the originator - Big R Corals.

Then I went to the LFS today and saw a nice WD, looks diff than some I've seen and they have 3 colonies, all of which look a little different. I ended up with a frag lol...we'll see how both turn out
