Are these Aiptasi? If so I have a whole bunch in my tank? Luckily googling for some corals i came across these somewhere stating these are bad for tank/ What do you suggest?

Yes they are aptasias...they multiply quick. They are anemones types so any corals near them, aptasias will stung the corals making them to not open and eventually died.

Since you got so much on that rock...take all your corals off that rock and dry (sun bath) the rock to get rid of aptasias. Treating the aptasias in the tank will only get worse unless you get Berghia Nudibrand to have them eat the aptasias, that's the only affect way that I have seen. Good luck.

I saw the stores sell aiptasi-x solution (red-sea) that you can kill it with? Is that pretty effective and ok for reef tank? Also planning to get 2 peppermint shrimps.

I've had good luck with the Aiptasi-X product...just be careful and treat only the aiptasi with it. Peppermint shrimp work well too, but they tend to only eat the smaller aiptasi. Good luck and get rid of as much as you can by removing that rock!
