Day 5 of cycle, noticed these little gold/yellow specks on my live sand, is this diatoms? Just trying to make sure, so excited to see at least somethings growing in there lol

They are. A turkey baster will blast them away as will aiming piwer head to lower part of tank without agitating the sand bed

Thank you! Have a Koralia 425 in there along with Fiji Pink sand and it’s been a real chore to find the sweet spot that won’t stir up sand. May downsize to the 240
