Hey all,

This spot on the middle of the tip of his tail and dorsal fin on this blonde naso tang has significantly grown over the last few days. He has been eating well and hasn't shown any other symptoms that he is sick or under stress.

At one point there was a small spot on him but it disappeared for a few weeks. It then came back and grew into this....

I believe they are flukes but am not 100%. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
-T

Live flukes aren’t visible like this. They also won’t be localized. This looks like Lymphocytis, a viral disease that will perhaps get worse, but then go away on its own after 6 to 10 weeks.

Thanks jay,

What is the course of treatment for this?
If it is Lymphocytis, there is no treatment, it will eventually go away on its own.
I can’t be 100% certain that this is lympho, so keep an eye on it and post new pics if it changes, or if the fish shows any other symptoms.
