Are these hydroids growing on this frag? I only see these few - should I be good to just manually remove them and watch out for any new ones that pop up? Luckily this is only in my frag tank.

I have these in my display. No real issue, they grow slow and I think they look nice on the LR. They just add more diversity to your tank.

Thanks for the response! Should I just leave these be then? Reading hydroid horror stories earlier today got me nervous.

I wouldnt risk it personally. To each their own though. Cant tell from the picture but if you have a coral on there I'd remove it and make sure none of those follow.

Thank you, I removed them and I'll keep watching to be safe. I'd rather be overly cautious than regret it later!

I believe them to be a type of colonial hydroid- I've had them in my DT as well. Since they're Cnidarians, they have the potential to sting and irritate corals. I scrubbed them off with a toothbrush while siphoning and did a 15% water change, and I haven't seen them since! Others successfully starve them by directing flow in a way that prevents them from receiving nutrients.

That explains why the mushroom on this frag has moved all the way to the side. Appreciate the help - hope that's the last I see of them!

Really chemical aggressive ... In theory. I never seen this group of hydroids growing in aquarium as pests. They are not Myrionema.
