Thanks for the replies. It’s a toss up between that model or a regular black box. I’d like to do some sps in a tank I’m currently cycling. I have a kessil 360ne over that tank right now.

my mature tank is running a 360we and i retrofitted the light from an evo 13.5 for additional coverage. I want to get rid of the retrofitted light. I need about 12”x12” for light coverage. Are those 60$ black boxes any good for lps/softies?

I had the basic 16" ones from SB. Have the Reefi lights now. Am toying with the idea of setting the SB's back up. Never had an issue in the two years I had them up and running. Had better coral coloration than I have with the fancier and exceedingly more expensive lights. The only issue that I ever had was they only dim to 10% when I hooked them up to my Apex via the Apex hack and that was the reason for switching.

Some lights will have issues no matter what company you go with. For the price, IMHO, they can't be beaten.
