Evening All. Have finally got things under control … I hope. Tank has cycled. If I aim at the levels I have now will I be looking good long term? Any suggestions for possible tweaks or different numbers I should go for? I am hoping to keep a slightly under stocked tank and will add some small coral frags Zia’s and SPS which I would love to see flourish. At the moment calcium is 475 magnesium is 1375 pH is 8.2 and dKH is 9.7. Thanks all.

Sorry ‘good’ not ‘could’

Yes, they are "good" numbers.
Don't forget, no3 and po4 are also important.
And most important is stability.
I recommend not doing sps until a year or so. Try doing some lps after the softies you want. They can be easily removed if you don't want lps. They will help you with how the tank moves with consumption.

Thank you both. I am glad that Randy thinks these parameters are good. I am pretty good at water changes so these should be the numbers my tank is at at least until the tank is older. A good point about softies, but things in the UK are SO expensive and I do not want to waste time and money on softies, as I am getting too old for waiting around!! Any suggestions as to how to move from some very forgiving SPS to more ‘exciting’ stuff. Stability is what I am aiming at. The Red Sea reefer tank may help with this. I am quietly confident… Thanks again.
