I put a bottle of copepods in my fuge 2 months ago. It appears they have been growing in my chaeto but there's alot of this other stuff in all compartments of my sump. I thought it was sand at first but it's not, I can't feel any texture. Are these pods?

What has settled in the bottom is detritus. There may be pods eating some of that, but I cant see any large species of pods from your pictures. Wha species of pods did you add?

Aw that's a bummer...just poo lol
I was hoping i had a crazy pod population going on. This link has the pods I put in, I think it was the Tigerpods.

So I assume I should be removing the detritus in my sump or would I want to leave it?

depends on what type of system imo. If it’s a softie/lps system, I’ve found stirring that up and letting your return cycle it through once a while feeds corals very well. Low nutrient/sps type...vacuum it

The resident chemist left that stuff for decades. I'm an occasional cleaner.
In my small cube w the hob fuge I clean it regularly, in my sumped 55 I have two Dsb and more Bugs than you can shake a stick at.

That's good. I only have lps right now and probably won't be doing sps for a while. I'll just leave it for the time being.
Thanks for the info guys!
