Hi again

I put a bunch of rocks I didn’t need and other somewhat junk into what was once a quarantine tank.

it’s need about 2 months and now all of a sudden there is these guys everywhere. There out at night the most. If I turn on the lights and look quick it’s maybe 100 of them.

10 gal tank!

Yes it should do if the mandarin is in decent condition to start with . BTW pods is a generic term for quite a number of different species of pods.

Yes it will eat them, but it isnt a fish for a 10 gallon tank ever. It will quickly consume a pod population in that size tank, then die after

Like atoll said, they should but you never know for sure, they are picky eaters.

I have heard of people claiming their mandarin will eat flake. Now, even if your mandarin eats those pods you might find that they will get so reduced in numbers you may have to supliment their food with frozen copepods and brine.shrimp etc.

I have a pair that were conditioned to eat prepared foods, dry and frozen, saw them eat several times over a few weeks before purchasing. Now they prefer to hunt pods, luckily I I have a healthy population but I still offer other foods a few times a day which they nibble at.

They are by far the most finicky eaters I have dealt with to date.
