Check out the new yellow yuma (Edit: OG Bounce) it basically looks like a few pieces of yellow bubble algae stuck to a mushroom. People pay like 1000$ for it lol


A fish or coral has to be NOTICEABLY different for me to spend big $ on. Like I'd never spend hundreds on a Gem tang... because they look like regular tangs with spots. It would have to be something truly unique (like a weedy scorpionfish) to pique my interest. But those are thousands of $ so...

I don't know enough people in this hobby that would even notice something like what you posted and even to me only a couple pieces you posted stand out.

But at the end of the day, if people have the $ I say more power to them. I just dropped thousands on new lights and an apex system/modules. People outside the hobby would think I'm absolutely insane. Everyone's enjoyment of this (and any) hobby is all very subjective.

But yeah those prices are stupid

Their eBay auctions are usually the only way to get stuff at decent prices. It costs 40$ for shipping everything, but MUCH better than what they have listed on their site.

That said, coral prices are absolutely absurd in general. a LFS is the place to go, but unfortunately the selection is usually sub par. Buying common stuff online is never a good idea though.

I asked the same question when I saw a YouTube video on a 65 foot center console boat with five 627 horse power engines hanging off the transom and again when I watched a fifty million dollar yacht sales pitch. I buy what I can afford and don’t worry much about what others can afford.

If it's a piece I really wanted and couldn't keep a tank without I would pay it. It would just mean that I could not buy anything else for a while. I have mixed feelings about it. On the one hand the market dictates the price, on the other hand selling a photoshopped and unusually lit coral with a huge mark up seems like false advertising. It all boils down to what people will continue to pay. I guess it's like hip-hop tells us, it ain't trickin' if you got it. Lol
