Are these really the same coral?

I see two pics, the first looks more like a flat encrusting with red but the second and fingers/less red, are these really the same coral? On sellers site, they are listed as same coral.

This kind of coral will encrust depending on the shape of the rock it is on and corals can change colors depending on the light it is under and parameters will also get into play.
 
Is it just me or does it look like in the second pick the coral killed a nieghboring coral and encrusted it
 
The second one looks like a cyphastrea. The color tones are the same, but I would say they are of a different genus. The “ polyp” structure looks different.
 
Not having a sense of size throws off your point of view. I can see them as the same coral now, one picture of a small frag up close and one of the colony from farther back.
