Hey guys bought this trio from my clueless LFS today. They were too cool to resist and claimed to be reef safe. Anyone have an ID? Are they in fact reef safe? Theyre in my sump until I get some reassurance.

Those look cool as heck! Nice pick up. not sure if they are reef safe though. sorry I can't help you on that.

That is a tidepool species. I would not recommend putting one in the average reef. That said, if you were able to provide some sort of "land" for the crabs to retreat to, they may do well.

they look like a type of fiddeler crab or like mentioned above. if you can put a peice of rock up out of the water for them to climb up they will do better.

They would do well in my sump. The middle chamber has lots of live rock for them to crawl out on the water and sun under the CF.
