My tank right about 1 year mark and in my sump I got maybe 100 lol.they like dark or shaded areas and usually explode in numbers in alot of never tanks then settle down and go less in numbers .Well that's good, didn't want to hear flatworms.
Do they spread quickly? My tank is only 5 months old and there are probably 15 that I can see in the small 3rd chamber.
Pineapples are short lived and thrive off of silicates. If youve added new rock or sand or have RODI filters that are expired or used up- these will emerge and prefer shaded areas of tankWell that's good, didn't want to hear flatworms.

In my experience, a 5 month old tank with pineapple sponges isn't anything to worry about. While silicates may be from another source, I would suspect your current rock is new enough to be the cause. All rock and sand has been in since the beginning (5 months). I get water from lfs. Should I be worried about silicates? How would I test for those?
