Debating getting either a TCK Wildcard or TGC Cherrybomb tenuis but wondering if they are truly as red as these photos show?

Under heavy blue with a brown/orange filter, yes.

To the naked eye? Not that I’ve seen.
So not that impressive under full spectrum (12-18k)? I run T5’s (2x Coral Plus, 2x Blue Plus) along with ReeFi UNO 2.0 Pro’s and my peak lighting during the day is fairly full spectrum. The morning and evening is when the blues and violets LEDs are running by themselves as the lights ramp up and down.

In my opinion, It's a very nice coral under blues, nothing crazy but worthy of anyone's collection. Under whites it's so so.

If you run whiter spectrum you may not be that impressed with it.

I have the CB and it's not that red, but I also don't only run oversaturated blue lights.

Look at the plug it's on. This is under blue lighting.
Yea, all of them are. I guess my question should also include, are they even this red to the naked eye even under just heavy blues? I can live with a washed out color when my T5’s are peaked as I have 2 light periods during the day that are just heavy blues/violets.

I suggest avoiding vendors that only display their frags with heavy blue light. It’s very deceptive. Unless you’re one of the folks who prefer that ultra flourescent look… There’s a number of vendors who show frags under both heavy blue and broader spectrum. You’re much better off purchasing from one of them.

Right. Unfortunately that seems to be how 95% of vendors do it….”whatever it takes to get them to sell”…

I mean we all have some sick corals if we photograph them basically under blacklights/moonlights. If you run your tank with more of a daylight look, tenuis are a good coral to skip over in my opinion . However there are definitley some nicer ones but make your decision based on the way they look under lighting thats similar to yours

I have a few tenuis that are just simple in color….mostly shades of green and they look great under any lighting. This Mt Dew tenuis and the one to the right of it are good examples. The photo was taken under blues, yet, but they still stand out from across the room even under full blast Coral Plus and Blue Plus T5’s.
