Hello all, got a couple of nice zoa morphs and wondering if anyone has a name for them. The red ones kind of look like Xmen? No clue on the purple. Let me know what you think. Thanks

is this a wild colony? J @ buythereef recently posted a similar colony that's somewhat a hybrid of pink elephant centers but lunar eclipse skirts... I wonder if pink elephants & lunar eclipse are distant variations...

I got them from Ocean in a Box.

The ones that look like lunars, also have some with green skirt and same black/purple center as the reds skirts on the rock. I will get better picture and post.

Okay Thanks but aren't they all from the wild? Or are you saying they will look different over time in the tank? Just giving you an out on that one.

Yes they are all from the wild :) but these dont look like they are tank bred or anything. I got the same colony on ebay before this one so basically i got the same ones you got... plus some other palys that have covered the entire piece its on... Im sure they will color up and look a lot better as they get settled into your tank.

Btw my piece didnt look like the WYSIWYG pic :( yours has more of those PPE morphs...

Hey Ben, I know you take really nice pictures as I have seen you zoa thread. Would you mind sharing a shot of yours so I can see what they may look like over time.

I would frag them and put them each in their own, some of them might take over and kill the other ones.

Thank you :)

Yes ill take some pics of them once i get the chance, just going to be really busy the next 2 weeks before i head over seas...

Going to start to do that, i already fragged off the pink elephants and ppe morphs but lunars and other palys are still on there theres just too many to frag

Sadly I lost all but about three of these zoa's after fragging. They developed the classic fungus/bacteria infection and melted. Tried treating some in furan II and others in erythromycin but did not help

bummer. I've yet to see 100% survival on fragged wild colonies. Always a crap shoot imo, because leaving the rock as is could also lead to some mortality.
