I've traditionally been a vortech reefer so i've taken night mode and all the easy flow setting stuff for granted..........

I have a 5' peninsula tank now and thought the tunze 6105 would better push the water at the far end over say an MP 40 and went that way. So now after my quarantined clowns went in yesterday (first fish) i was looking at them, fighting the current, when the lights were off and i said "ahh, gotta turn on night mode".......but wait, these are not vortechs!

So now i'm looking to find out if/how to do this? I'd love to generate different flow during the day and have a "night mode" when the lights go off.

Appreciate any help, hopefully there is an easy solution i'm missing here or else these bad boys might be on the selling block!

Thanks!

I believe you need to connect a moonlight diode (about $35) to the controller to automatically active night mode. You may wish to verify that with Roger on the Tunze equipment forum.

I have an apex and it seems like this cable will let me control it:
Would you agree? Seems like the moonlight sensor actually shuts the pump off. I don’t want to do that but I’d love to be able to program intensities throughout the day and potentially put it into pulse mode.

does/will the apex have this programming in it?

I use a profilux to control my 6155’s.

On the profilux i setup stream groups and adjust intensities based on a schedule.

No idea on apex setup, as i dont have one.

I have two, but I control them through the Apex controller and work great. Very easy setup in Apex Fusion is my opinion. You do need an additional module and cable to control them with the Apex though.
